Spinal Cord Injury Attorney Andrew J. Hill III

Drew Hill believes strongly that lawyers can have a positive impact on their clients’ lives.

“Bashing lawyers seems to be in vogue, but when a client is in real trouble or has had his or her life turned upside down due to a serious personal injury, a well-trained, seasoned trial attorney can help right that world,” he says. “That is what we, as trial attorneys, seek to accomplish.”

Drew’s view of the lawyer’s role in people’s lives was, in no small part, shaped by his father, a small-town lawyer with a general practice.

“He would take little or no fee on any number of occasions and really make a difference in the lives of people of all races and stations in life,” says Drew, who was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, on March 21, 1952.

“He also set an example for me as a lawyer, showing me your word is your bond, and never do anything in the practice of law that calls your credibility into question.”

After earning his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Georgia, Drew was admitted to the Georgia bar in 1977.

He has since dedicated his career to representing seriously injured individuals and the families of deceased individuals in claims against negligent and reckless drivers, trucking companies, product manufacturers, major corporations, insurance companies and physicians, hospitals or other medical providers.

Currently, he is heavily involved with the Blasingame, Burch, Garrard & Ashley, P.C., legal team that is representing injured women against manufacturers of defective medical devices for the treatment of incontinence and/or pelvic organ prolapse disorders.

“I think what makes our law firm superior to other firms is our size, firm philosophy and the way we do business, which allows us to handle big-time litigation and produce the same results larger firms seek to provide,” Drew says.

“Our plaintiffs’ personal injury practice group has eight attorneys, several paralegals and a nurse handling our cases.  We make it a point to be accessible to our clients, and there is always some staff member available to respond to client inquiries. We are a northeast Georgia law firm, but we have established a national presence.”

Although Drew is an aggressive litigator who prepares intensely for every case, he is widely known for his even-tempered, easy going personality in the courtroom.

“In every trial, my goal is to have jurors appreciate my low-key approach to presenting my case and the way I treat and respond to my opposition,” he says. “I work very hard on every case, and I believe that I prevail by outworking my opposition. There is no substitute for preparation before you enter the courtroom.”

When he isn’t working, Drew’s favorite pastime is spending time with his young grandson and playing golf with a group of his favorite friends.

“Four hours on a beautiful golf course amongst friends reinvigorates the soul,” he says.
